At present, BJC is a company that produces electrical material with a workforce of 170 people and an offer of more than 3000 references divided into two divisions of production:
Material for domestic installations (Small Material)
Material for industrial facillities ( Industrial Material / Equipment).
In the year 2002 BJC renewed all its industrial facillities creating a new production center of 29,000 m2 which has allowed it to centralize all the production processes within the same area. From the transformation of plastics to the cutting and shaping of metal, assembly, laboratories and including our Research and Development Department.
On 10 June, 2008, BJC became part of the multinational Siemens S.A., in its Building Technologies division, in the business unit Low Voltage.
During the current 2011, BJC will become the strategic production center of Siemens for the entire Small Deck Material of DIN VDE mechanism. In addition to producing the series of BJC, it will produce all DELTA series of Siemens, to which are transferred from Germany to BJC in Rubi (Barcelona), all functions (R & D, Quality, Marketing) including the production of the series DELTA.
BJC will coordinate Europe's portfolio of Small Material, BJC series and DELTA of Siemens, both brands will remain: BJC and Siemens, in the markets where they operate.
To concentrate on BJC the small material, during the past financial year 2010 the lighting division was transferred from BJC to OSRAM, a company specialized in lighting that also belongs to the Siemens group.
This recognition of Siemens to BJC is the result of intensive research work based on the quality, design and a job well done. This approach has led to BJC to obtain the AENOR ISO 9001 in 1993 to Small Material, and ISO 9001 in 1997 for the Industrial Equipment Division.
BJC is also endorsed by the ISO 14001 certificate, demonstrating and ensuring proper environmental management.
In 1926, D. Buenaventura Josa Camarasa incorporated to his metal workshop the fabrication of electrical equipment, demonstrating an excellent view of the importance of electricity in the modern world. Soon, the dedication to the electrical equipment was total. Then the switches, sockets, "pear", push buttons and a long list of products intended exclusively for domestic use were invented.
In 1954 BJC launches the first series of boxes of assalut and of industrial material. Six years later it produces the first screens and regletas, pioneers of a wide variety of lighting for all kinds of light sources. From this moment the company is positioned as a leader in the manufacture of electrical equipment in the country and becomes one of the largest electrical engineer company in Europe.
This spectacular growth is the sum of passion to offer products of the highest quality and security and a constant effort to be in the van of progress. Since 1975, when the well-known industrial designer Andre Ricard began to collaborate with the company, giving the result of products that marked an era in the industry as the series Ibiza, BJC has continued giving the necessary importance to design as an essential added value, not only aesthetic but also functional.
All the people forming part of BJC share a historical attitude governed by an open and innovative character. All the company departments work since the mid 70s for BJC to be always qualified to respond in advance to the future needs of people.
These values of BJC and the commitment of Siemens to the Spanish market and the Small Material, materialized in the purchase of the company BJC in 2008.
