Bjc Iris Waterproof was designed to be the best option for outdoor spaces and areas exposed to humidity. Its structure is fitted with a complete safety system that guarantees IP-44 protection and which, in turn, blends in perfectly with the design of the Bjc Iris Series. It keeps the same depth, and conserves all the balance and elegance of the original look; so much so that it is difficult to tell the two options apart.
He Bjc Iris Waterproof switch also incorporates a protective EPDM membrane, providing added safety to the rocker key.
EPDM membrane.
- Thermoplastic elastomer with high insulating capacity.
- High temperature resistance (from –50 ºC up to +120 º/150 ºC).
The second membrane is set within the polycarbonate frame, forming an indivisible unit.
Polycarbonate Frame.
- Polycarbonate is a material that can be set with EPDM via a process of simultaneously injecting both materials in a rotational mould.
- It is specially treated to delay the effects of UV rays.
The mechanism has a strong Zamak frame allowing tight screw fastening.
Zamak frame.
- Material with high mechanical resistance.
- Allows tight screwing in the assembly, permitting the EPDM membrane to be hidden inside the frame.
- Rustproofed.
The reinforced structure of the double EPDM membrane guarantees tolerance to the projection of water from any direction, and protection against the ingress of particles as small as 1 mm in diameter.

The structure of the socket has a built-in, hinged cover for added protection.

- Hinged to provide the plug with the best possible protection against water.

The plug socket and the cover have a special design with an interior circuit for expelling water, stopping it from seeping into the mechanism.
